Our History
Montclair’s tradition of professional law enforcement dates back to 1894, when the community’s early organized police service began taking shape. Through generations of change and growth, Montclair police officers have remained committed to protecting the township and serving its residents with courage, integrity, and respect.
Montclair PBA Local 53 proudly carries that tradition forward by representing and supporting the dedicated officers of the Montclair Police Department. Today, the Local’s work extends beyond officer advocacy to include charitable initiatives, community events, public-safety awareness, and programs that strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the people of Montclair.
